If you have, you will know why we’re calling you to the mountains. If you haven’t, but would like to experience these emotions and revel in the beauty of the Caucasian mountains, we’re inviting you to join one of our trekking tours in the Caucasus. It could be highland trekking overcoming passes, with fierce winds, and food cooked on a camping stove. Or it might be a leisurely walk across the hills and hearty evenings with campfire songs.
About trekking with “Caucasus Explorer”
Our trekking tours stand apart in a few ways:
Non-standard routes
The routes are laid out off the tourist trails where nature is still intact. We will stop by in highland settlements and visit shepherds to familiarize ourselves with unique Caucasian traditions.
Light backpacks
We save each trekker 5 kilos of weight, as we replenish our food and water supplies in settlements and at shepherd’s camps instead of dragging all the food along with us. Besides, we pick the most innovative and light gear which reduces weight by two-three kilos.
Small groups
We organize treks for small groups from six up to ten people. That’s an optimal number for the guide to care for each participant and ensure safety.
Efficient backcountry insertion
If a road is passable to a vehicle, we will be going by car. Our guests walk on trails only and never on highways.
Rest after trekking
At the end of the tour we usually chill out for a couple of days by the sea or in a city – bathe, go on outings, and feast in numerous restaurants.
If you saw our travel plan and did not find the ideal one for you – write or call us.
We will draw up an itinerary taking into account all your wishes. We have enough experience, best practices and contacts in the Caucasus to organize any trip at your request.
We, a couple (71/74) from Austria, did a trekking with Caucasus Explorer this summer.
Dimitry, the manager of Caucasus-Explorer arranged an individual, tailor made trekking for us. We hiked from Sofia valley over three passes to Aksaut valley , through a very remote and wonderful area. Our bags and camping equipment were transported by horses…
We can warmly recommend Caucasus Explorer to everybody.
